Felix Hernandez had a strong outing as the Dyersville Jurassics won in
dramatic fashion over the North Dallas Fire Ants by a score of 4 to 3 at the
ballpark.
Dyersville scored the decisive runs in a big bottom of the 9th inning with 3
runs on 4 hits. Shane Victorino started the inning off right when he stroked
a base-hit. Jim Aldrich then called for a steal which was successful. Craig
Wilson then slapped a single bringing in a run. Hector Luna followed and he
doubled scoring one more run. Shea Hillenbrand stepped into the box and
banged out a one-base hit making Dyersville victorious to the delight of the
the home town crowd. Dyersville had 9 hits for the afternoon while North
Dallas had 5.
Josh Kinney(2-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 inning and allowing 1
run. Bobby Jenks(0-2) was charged with the loss in relief.
Jim Aldrich was ebullient after the game, 'It's great to win a hard fought
game like that. Our guys just weren't going to be denied. And did you see
the fans - they were going wild! Yes sir, a very enjoyable win this
afternoon!'
